What You Don't Know About CBD

The production and unrestricted use of Hemp and Hemp prod-

ucts was approved without restriction in the USA in the recent

2018 Farm Bill. CBD/HEMP EXTRACT is now available to

consumers. What is CBD? CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol,

a chemical compound that belongs to a class of chemicals called

Phyto cannabinoids. It’s found naturally in hemp and marijuana,

along with over 100 other Phyto cannabinoids, including tetrahy-

drocannabinol, or THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana.

While both hemp and marijuana are members of the same

species, their cannabidiol profiles are significantly different. The

major difference is the relative proportions of CBD and THC they

contain. In general terms: hemp is high in CBD but low in THC.

Marijuana is low in CBD but high in THC. People who are after

the temporary euphoric feeling known as a high, smoke or ingest

marijuana. People who take hemp oil or CBD, on the other hand,

want to enjoy the wide range of health benefits associated with

CBD, including relief from chronic pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, and

other common ailments. CBD products will not give users a high

because there’s not enough THC in the hemp plant to produce

the effect. CBD options are now available that contain NO THC!

Though hemp contains an abundance of CBD, the compound is

found primarily in the leaves and flowers, not the stalks or seeds.

This is why it’s crucial to choose a CBD product extracted from the

entire plant.

Knowing the difference (Isolate, Broad Spectrum and Full Spec-

trum) in how CBD is supplied to consumers is an important consid-

eration in choosing among available options. Many people can’t/

won’t take the risk of ingesting even a trace of THC, usually because

they fear of failing a drug test. As an industry leader, Medical Mary’s

Brand of CBD assures Consistent Quality Manufacturing, and an

independent third party laboratory certificate of analysis/content

guarantee providing a level of confidence to appreciative consum-

ers, in an unregulated marketplace.

1. Full-Spectrum CBD: A Full-Spectrum CBD product contains

all the healthful Phyto cannabinoids the hemp plant contains.

It does contain THC, although only in trace amounts (less than

0.3 percent).

2. Broad Spectrum CBD: Most often this term is used to des-

ignate CBD products that include all the Phyto cannabinoids

in the hemp plant, except THC. Broad Spectrum products

provide most of what’s known as the “entourage effect,” a

term that refers to the synergistic power Phyto cannabinoids

provide when working together in the body.

3. Isolate CBD Cannabidiol can be refined down to the single

molecule. In other words, pure CBD.

Full-Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, or Isolate—which is more effec-

tive? Groundbreaking research from Israel published in 2015 concluded that the synergistic effects of a full spectrum cannabinoid profile are superior. The study concluded that full-spectrum CBD/Hemp was more effective in the treatment of inflammatory conditions in mice than molecule CBD/ Hemp isolate. This full spectrum benefit is commonly referred to as the ‘entourage effect.’ There are many users who don’t want to ingest any THC at all. Until recently, an isolated form of CBD/ Hemp was the only non-THC option for these users. The recent introduction of broad-spectrum products now allow this group to enjoy the health benefits of the entourage effect while avoiding THC ingestion.
